- Provide an overview of the history of research ethics in Canada and the relevant policies that govern human participant research more broadly.
- Describe the role of the Tri-Agencies and the development of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS).
- Describe principles for conducting community-based research with Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
- Provide an overview of the different types of Research Ethics Boards (REBs) and ethics review mechanisms.
